03-08-2015, Inauguration of the family unit in Athicode parish Palakkad, Kerala, India. This parish is given to Saleisans of Don Bosco, Bangalore province .  


Rev. Fr. George P.S. sdb, Economer of bangalore province visited the Athocode parish and had an interaction with the youth on 26/07/2015.

Returning to God's Ever-Present Love

We often confuse unconditional love with unconditional approval. God loves us without
conditions but does not approve of every human behavior. God doesn't approve of
betrayal, violence, hatred, suspicion, and all other expressions of evil, because
they all contradict the love God wants to instill in the human heart. Evil is the
absence of God's love. Evil does not belong to God.

God's unconditional love means that God continues to love us even when we say or
 think evil things. God continues to wait for us as a loving parent waits for the
return of a lost child. It is important for us to hold on to the truth that God
never gives up loving us even when God is saddened by what we do. That truth will
help us to return to God's ever-present love.

Short History: 

The Salesians of Don Bosco (Bangalore Province) were invited by the Bishop of Sultanpet in 2015 to look after the spiritual needs of the people of St. .Anthony’s church, Athicode which was built in 1852 (foundation stone was laid by Fr. J.C. Bruyere in 1852, and Fr. Leberce completed the work in 1854         Fr. J.C. Bruyere’s mortals still kept at the entrance of the church). The church was renovated in 1999 by Fr. M.S. Michael, parish priest. From 14-10-1846 the church was under the Coimbatore diocese till a new diocese has been carved out of the diocese of Coimbatore and Calicut and appointing Fr. Peter Abir Anthonisamy as its new bishop and making it suffrages of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Verapoly on 28 December 2013.

Sister (earth) now cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her. We have come to see ourselves as her lords and masters, entitled to plunder her at will. The violence present in our hearts, wounded by sin, is also reflected in the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air and in all forms of life. This is why the earth herself, burdened and laid waste, is among the most abandoned and maltreated of our poor; she “groans in travail” (Rom 8:22). We have forgotten that we ourselves are dust of the earth (cf. Gen 2:7); our very bodies are made up of her elements, we breathe her air and we receive life and refreshment from her waters.
